The other day my daughter and I talked about our network marketing businesses and where we were going with it. The conversation went in the direction of her as a 3 year old.
She would accompany me when I would set up a booth at a local craft fair, about 3 times per week. Behind our booth was a shelf filled with brochures for tourists that showed them what activities are available on Maui. These brochures were free. My 3 year old, as I was setting up, would take different brochures and put them on our table and advise people that she was selling them for “only one dime.” People would buy it from her because it was so cute and sometimes they would even give her a dollar.
She would also take our bags and draw a picture on it. She would politely let “her” customer know that they could walk down the aisle and shop and when they were finished they could come back and their picture would be finished. On some of them they would pay her up to $10 and it was so cute because they really treasured her drawing and said they would keep it as a remembrance of their visit to Maui.
I always thought what great potential she has. She can do anything she sets her mind to do.
But now that she’s older she’s changed. When I remind her of how she was she says “oh mom, they only bought it because I was little and cute.”
I know that but still, to me there was something in her that was confident and spunky that she lost as she got older. With network marketing, that kind of confidence and spunkiness is a real plus. Not pushy, and disrespectful but just matter of fact and if you like it good and if not good.
She has been Blessed with God Given talent that will bloom and flourish! I can already see her getting her “groove” back.
You see when she started her network marketing business she was only 17 years old. She talked to everyone she knew. We had meetings at our house, she had one on one’s with friends and acquaintances and many said yes only to bail out on her. That is the natural course of network marketing. But she got discouraged and although she still wants to build a business she’s hit a brick wall.
Hitting brick walls or obstacles is part of life. We encounter it every day. Some are harder to overcome than others but overcome we do. Especially because of our complete Faith and Love for God. He is always put first in everything we do and although we are not perfect we do have faith in God and his calling for us.
Inevitably our potential will be unleashed, in a good way, because that’s what God wants of us. It reminds me of the Parable of the Talents, which I’ll post about later. Great story!
Every Tuesday we have Family Prayer Night and every Sunday we have a Business Prayer Meeting. The meetings have really helped us to grow spiritually as individuals, as a family, and as business partners.
